ACTIVE PACKAGING
ITENE R&D area focuses in the developmentof packaging for the food industry that extends the products shelf life by incorporating active substances.
BIOPOLYMERS
Development of new biomaterials to be used as packaging materials with tailored properties. Research & Development in biodegradable materials. Development of new packaging materials from waste products.
NANOTECHNOLOGY
Development and modification of nanofillers (Reinforcement of materials), and nanocomposites development (Biopolymers and conventional polymers). Development of different reinforcement agents based on clay and cellulose to obtain NANOCOMPOSITES.
NEW PACKAGING MATERIALS
ITENE has focused R&D efforts on the development of new packaging materials to increase the shelf life of the packaged products and to provide novel functionalities.
RFID TECHNOLOGY
Research in RFID and its integration in packaging, recyclability of radiofrequency devices, traceability control in supply chain and development of RFID technology.
SUSTAINABILITY
The objective of this research line is to achieve sustainability of products, goods and services, including production processes, packaging, transport alternatives, logistics and needed infraestructure.
TRANSPORT SIMULATION CENTER
Transport Simulation Centre is equipped with experimentation equipment where you can determine the performance of materials by testing them under actual usage conditions.
